Book rant: Pretties by Scott Westerfeld

Second book in the Ugly series.

"Tally is finally Pretty. After Special Circumstances finding the Smoke everything is changed. But Tally do not remember much. Now all she cares about is being bubbly. Shay also turned Pretty, and Tally is reunited with her childhood friend Peris. She feels good being in her group of Crims, the leader Zane is totally gorgeous and Tally falls for him. But the past suddenly comes creeping back into her mind. The pills, she needs to take the pills, they'll make her normal again. But she shares one with Zane. Together, Tally and Zane gain their Ugly minds back. But Zane is getting horrible headaches.

And things are slowly falling apart."

It took me a while to read this book. I got over half ways, and then it just got extremely boring. I was really confused and disappointed by the end of it, but I rushed to start on Specials. My overall opinion is very mixed. I loved seeing Tally gain back her Ugly mind. But I also got very annoyed by her impulsive Pretty thoughts. You expect something, and then it goes totally wrong and you sit there and want to throw the book into the wall and make Scott rewrite it. But I'm sure it'll make sense when I get to the last books. I do still think the Uglies series is worth a read!

I give Pretties 3½ out of 5 owls.

Have a nice day, lovelings.
