❅ HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR BOTH! ❅

Christmas is the time for family, friends, love and...
 Christmas shopping.

We all know how frustrating Christmas shopping can be. You don't always get a list of things the person you're shopping for want, and you just sit there and spend the afternoon thinking "What do you want from me?!". Well, I'm here to help you! I've made three different posts. One for men, one for women, and one for both. This is the one dedicated for both, no matter gender or age (kinda) who deserves something special this Christmas!

  • Books.
I wanted to put books in both the "Him" and "Her", but I thought I would just put it here. Books are a personal thing. You cannot really generalise books as much as anything else. So if you're really in doubt what to get man or a woman, find out what kinds of books they like!

  • Board games!!!
For the social people you know, a board game may be fun? Or sing star! Or those dancing games for the game consoles.
  • Cameras.
I think this can be a fun gift to someone who likes to play around with cameras, or is just creative in general. The polaroid camera is from www.coolstuff.dk and if I remember right it doesn't include film. I adore polaroid, I've always wanted a wall covered in pictures from a polaroid camera, I can just never justify getting one. The Diana camera I just googled to get the picture, I'm not sure where to get it, but the photos it take are so nostalgic and whimsical. I have no knowledge of cameras, but I think it would make a cute gift.

  • Something fun, but useful.
Why do things have to be boring? They don't! Bring in the weird knick knacks!

A metal wallet, small and compact!
A clothes folder. I mean.. I know I'm shit at folding clothes.
    A chain whine holder!
A phone charger that runs on solar cells.
    Waterproof camera case
    Self-stirring gravy thingy!
    All found on www.coolstuff.dk
  • Personal gifts. (Ideal for LDR couples)
I've got a lot of requests to give ideas for what to get your love when you're far away from each other. This can also be used for just friends, but this I will mainly dedicate to LDR couples.

    - 100 reasons why I love you booklet. It speaks for itself. Buy a little notebook and write down 100 reasons why you love the person. Could be more, could be less. It's cheap, but very thoughtful and the person who receives it knows you've put a lot of time into it. You can decorate the outside of the book and the pages. I made one for Sean last Christmas!
    - A memory box. Print out pictures of you together (if you haven't met yet, pictures that remind you of the other person), sweets, small notes, things that reminds you of them.
    - Something of yours. This may not appeal to everyone. But, you could give them something of yours. A piece of clothing, a teddy bear, a book where you've written notes in it for them. Sean left two of his hoddies at my place when he was here over Easter. One he let me keep permanently, which I've now made into a pillow. It meant so much to me, it was so comforting having his smell with me for a while. I took one of them with me to Berlin, which I went to short after he went home. And you can even send it back and forth. Spray it with your cologne/perfume for the other person, so they have your smell close to them.
    - The hoodie/t-shirt pillow. Get a piece of clothing you can live without, sew/glue some buttons on the bottom and stuff it with a pillow. Spray with your perfume/cologne for extra goodness.
    - A care package. A little "Here's some stuff so you can survive without me until I see you next" idea. Get a box, fill it with their favourite sweets, films, some comfy socks, maybe some new pyjamas, a blanket, a teddy and a picture of you.
    - Matching t-shirts/hoodie. There are a bunch of websites that make personalised clothing, and you could make matching ones. Doesn't have to be "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" ones. Could just be with a picture of a character for your favourite game you play together, or a film you both like.
    - Location art. Cut out the country/state you live in, and the place your love lives. Paint a canvas in their favourite colour and glue on the places. Put on a heart sticker/paint a heart on where about you live in the country/state and where they live and connect with some thread or paint. Write a cute note on or simple the day you started your relationship or first met or something else that is important to you two.
  • Gift baskets.
Some places do different gift baskets for Christmas. Those would be ideal if you're lost on what to get. You could of course "build" one yourself, get a bunch of stuff you think they will like, get a basket, put ribbons around and bam, a little gift basket is born!

I think that is it. Phew. It's over! 2+ weeks work. But I truly hope this helped just a tiny bit, and gave you an idea to what to get different people this year! Thank you so much for reading! :-)

❅ HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HER!

This part is dedicated for the lovely ladies in your life who deserves something speciel!

  • Fragrances.
Okay this can be a triggy little fellow to deal with. But I cross my heart that if a lady near and dear to you receives a perfume from you, just the fact that you went out to a shop, sniffed around and found something you think she would like. If you want some hints, check out which perfumes she already has, and ask in the shops what would be good and similar to them. Or just figure out which perfume scent group she's into. Is she into spicy scents? Fruity? Sweet? Powdery?
And because it's up to Christmas, the shops have sets with a bunch of scents, and maybe you could found something there?
Personally, I am buying my mum a perfume set. We were in a shop, she randomly picked up a scent  from Lancome to sniff and she loved it, and I took note from that. (Found on www.matas.dk)

But you can never go wrong with a Marc Jacobs scent. Just saying!
OR! If you're lucky enough to live in a country with a Sephora shop, they do a fragrance sample set every year.

It is basically a box with a bunch of samples of perfume and a coupon for a full size of which ever one she likes the most! Gives her a few to try and find one she really likes!
  • Make up.
This is also a dangerous zone to step into. But could also be a very very useful present for a girl who's just getting into the make up world or a woman who just wants something new to play around with!
I would recommend some eye shadow pallets. I'm sure all the shops that sell make up have some kind of make up pallet around this time. Sephora also makes a sample box of mascaras. I found these on www.sephora.com
  • Nail polish and nail care.
I feel like I'm repeating myself, but shops make a ton of gift sets! And if she is a huge nail polish lover (as someone I know....me.....) she will love whatever you get her, because you thought of her while getting it. OPI is good at making sets with mini bottles of their current collection. This year the Holiday set is inspired by James Bond and the collection is called "Skyfall"
  • Skin and hair care.
Some face masks and a good deep hair mask would do wonders. We girls love to feel clean and delicious. And again, again, again, shops make sets with different skin lotions, masks, cleansing oils, make up removers, and sets with hair masks, shampoo and conditioner. The tricky part in this one could be to find out what skin or hair type she is. Here I would just go for normal skin and then see if she has coloured or natural hair colour. (pictures found on www.matas.dk and www.superdrug.co.uk)

  • Jewellery and fashion.
Okay, you're on your own here. I have no idea how to buy jewellery and fashion items for women. But it is a nice thing to get, or at least the jewellery. But it's a massive hit or miss, a whole new world even I don't dare to go into.
  • House decor and funny knick knacks.
Personally I do not know a woman who doesn't enjoy something pretty for her home/room. It could be a nice blanket, some mugs, candles, anything to make her pretty world even prettier. Personally I love anything with an owl on... (Pictures found on Google. The candles shown are from Bath & Body Works)
  • Other cute ideas.
Random stuff is my favourite thing to receive  Something fun a friend, family member or my boyfriend saw and thought "Oh my gawd, Malle would LOVE this!". I think it's fun, it's personal, it's just cute. So here's some stuff I found on www.coolstuff.dk

Beddy Bear - Extremely soft cuddly bear, but pop him into the microwave for 2 mins and he'll be warm and cozy for up to two hours!
Chocolate fountain -  I mean.. Who doesn't adore chocolate?
Travalo - Transfer perfume from your big perfume bottles into the smart and small perfume containers. Brilliant for travel and to put in your bag.
    Giant cupcake tin!!!!
Cute monkey nail dryer - Press down on the bananas and he'll blow your nails dry!
DIY embroider iPhone case - Make your own personalised embroider iPhone case!
And I think that was all I could think about! I hope this helped you a tiny bit. If not.. I'm sorry, but women are hell to shop for ;-)

❅ HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE FOR HIM!

This is dedicated to the handsome hunk in your life that deserve some cool stuff this Christmas!

  • A game.If the man in your life is a typical gamer, a game will be a perfect gift. Now, what game should you get him? Look at what he's into.
First person shooter guy? Then I would recommend Black Ops 2 which just recently came out. It is available for most consoles out there. (PS3, PC, Xbox)

Racer guy? I personally have a boyfriend who is obsessed with racing games. To be more specific, Formula One games. Every year Formula release a game, so I would say go for F1 2012 if he is into that. Need for Speed is also a racing game which most guys with a car obsession seem to like to play. The newest one to the collection is Need for Speed - Most Wanted. Again, these games are available to most consoles.

It is really up to what your guy is into. Grand Theft Auto is also a good game series for the man in your life. It's a mixture of shooting, racing, and a bunch of other stuff I personally do not have a clue what is about. Sports games could also be a thing! So get a sneak peak at the guy's current collection and look into what is new on the marked.
    Game console giftcards:
PSN (PS Network for PS3) and Xbox sell giftcards for their online stores. Some games are only sold on those stores that connect to the console, so a giftcard for there could be an idea.
There is also a game network on the PC called "Steam" that has games you can purchase and gift to people. But for that you need to set up an account, and then gift it to the person you want it to. Game consoles:
If you want to go all the way, you could go for a PS3, Xbox, Nintendo Wii and what else is out there. There is also handheld consoles, such as Nintende DS, PS Vita and Gameboy Advance.
NOTE! This could also be a gift for girls, but I put it in men to be really annoyingly generalising. (Not really)
  • Cologne/Perfume.
Cologne/perfume is like games. Really personal and depends on what he likes. Look into his collection (if he has one) or if it's a husband/boyfriend you need one for, go for what YOU would like him to smell like. Or maybe just ask into what brands he likes. I personally like Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss for men.

For Christmas, most shops who sell colognes and perfumes make
gift sets with a deodorant and the cologne/perfume or body wash/lotion. So it could be worth looking into that.
IF YOU LIVE IN A COUNTRY WITH A SEPHORA THIS WOULD BE AWESOME TOO:

It is a box with bunch of samples of fragrances for men AND he can get to pick out his favourite of them and get a full size.
  • Self care for men.
In a time where men want to look good too, it could be good to give them some skin treatment, body care or hair care. Again, drug stores and departments stores do gift sets around Christmas time, so it's just looking into what they could need. I see gift sets for men with dry skin, acne, hair care for brittle and dry hair, shaving creams, aftershaves and what not! (Both of the pictures found on the Danish drugstore "Matas" website)
  • Computer/phone gadgets.
You would be surprised of how many strange, yet entertaining, things you can find on the internet. And any guy likes his toys. Here's some examples:
  •
(12 port USB, Darth Vader molds, USB cup warmer, humping dog USB port, boob/bum mouse mat, iPhone helicopter - found on www.coolstuff.dk)
  • Fashion?!
Fun socks, a knitted scarf, gloves, anything for this season would do - if he's into it. The general thing with buying presents is to know them and try and guess what they would like. It's hard, I know! But if you know them well, you'll know when it's right. But here's some things I think every guy could make a use of:

(iPhone friendly gloves, Mr. Funny underwear, Family Guy socks and knitted scarf were found on Amazon.co.uk)
You could also customise a shirt or hoodie!

(Pssst, if you live in England www.yourdesign.co.uk is a really good website for this)
  • Music, music, music.
Is he the type of guy who always blast out music at every waken minute? (*cough* That's my brother) A great present would be anything that fits with his music taste.
    - Is he just a listener? Get him some CDs from his favourite bands, I've also hear records are getting back!
    - Is he a player (As in instrument player, I know what you thought there!)? Get him some gear for his guitar/bass/drums/flute/whatever instrument he plays. When I was on Odder, some of my friends gave a guy who was into guitar a pick puncher, it's pretty awesome! Or what about a Synthesizer? (Guitar pick presser  found on www.thinkgeek.com and the Synthesizer found on www.coolstuff.dk )

You could also go with one of those guitar hero inspired games!
  • Film obsessed.
Do you know that guy who is always watching films and can all the titles of these random films no one has ever heard about? Or he just really like an evening spend with a film and some good food?
Get or make a "Film for two" card! And get some good snacks, and then you can find a day to stuff your faces while watching a film - OF HIS CHOICE!
Or get a bunch of films you think he'll like. If he's one of those who'll watch anything, this will be perfect. Nothing as good as a stack of random films!
  • Random things.
    Something fun for boys ;-)

Lightsaber for the Star Wars loving guy.
    Beer opener ring.
Magnetic wristband for the handy man.
Star Wars molds! All found on www.coolstuff.dk
  • The boring stuff.
If you're totally lost, you cannot go wrong with a gift card to a store he likes. Some money to just spend on whatever along with a basket of some chocolate and some beer or whine, and he should be good!

And I think that was all I could think about! I hope this helped you a tiny bit. If not.. Sorry, but men are hard to shop for ;-)!
