Was I NAUGHTY or NICE this year?

Disclaimer: I am not bragging with the presents I got. If you cannot handle me showing off some bits, just click out, it's not that hard, there's an "x" on the tab. I like to look back on what I got, so it's mostly for myself to be honest. And I got some pretty sweet things if I say so myself.

This beautiful initials necklace from my brother. (M for Malle and S for Sean/Seanie)

Two gorgeous crystal necklaces and the best book I've ever come across from Seanie! <3

My grandmother has this tradition with giving me something with an angel on every year for Christmas. This year wasn't any exception! It says "Our little angel. You've been a miracle since you were born. This angel will guide you with love through life. We love you!"

My fantastic mother gave me my favourite perfume! She gave me one 2 years ago which I've barely used half of because it's so expensive and I've been scared to use it, but I think I can allow myself to use it a bit more now!

Menu jewellery tree from my mum's best friend. I was so shocked to receive this, it's so beautiful and I think I screamed a tiny bit. You shouldn't have you lovely bum burp!

A beautiful lamb fur from my cousins, aunt and uncle. It's so freaking soft, I sat and hugged it for like 10 minutes when I got it.
My mum also got me one of these (I think she's going to get another one for me) candle holders! I really like it. I'll be trying and redo my room a bit again when I take down my Christmas decorations!

I also got some money, gift cards and other bits and bobs. I was such a lucky girl this year, and I'm so thankful for everything I got and it was a very very lovely Christmas eve with my family.

Tomorrow is New Years eve, which I will spend alone because I want to. I don't like New Years Eve, I don' party, I don't drink, I don't like eating fancy food and slap on glitter on my face. So this year I'm at home, eating nuggets with my dog. But for everyone else, if you're going out, please be safe and drink responsibly! And the most important, just have fun and may you have a good start on 2014.

See you next year!

My Christmas.

The days leading up to Christmas eve was spend shopping for the last few food bits (nom!) and baking (even more nom!) Believe it or not, this wasn't even all of the biccies and treats we made! I love baking with my mum, and baking in general. It makes the house smell so much more like a home and come on, who doesn't love some good home baked goodies?

Despite not having Christmas at my house, it's always at my grandma's place, we cannot live without getting a tree. It isn't anything amazing, but we love it, it was such fun to decorate. We're very simple and traditional. Oh and if you didn't know, the Greenlandic flags represent the Greenlandic part of my family. It's from my dad's side, which makes my brother and I 1/4 part Greenlandic!

Buster loves presents. We packed up all of them little Christmas eve (23rd) before going to decorate the tree at my grandma's house, and he was sniffing and digging his little curious nose in the presents!

Christmas Eve is always calm with us. Despite having a hard time controlling my anxiety, I was able to enjoy it and relax. My aunt and her husband came to celebrate with us. Normally it's my uncle, grandma, brother, mother, Buster and I, but it was nice being a few more for a change. I didn't get a lot of pictures of the evening, it was just very relaxed. We ate dinner (this year trying out goose which I found out I really enjoy!), sang a few Christmas songs and danced around the tree.

We are a family who loves to spoil our pets. Buster is the most spoilt little fuzzy bunch we know. So after a very exhausting day watching TV, cuddling, eating food and the most exciting - OPENING PRESENTS! Buller took a little nap with his favourite present, a tennis ball.

When we got home, I showed Seanie my presents and let him open two pressies! One of them being this penguin pillow pet. His name is Albert! Seanie and I love penguins, Seanie probably being the most excited about them. And unfortunately earlier this month his dog got to another penguin I got him the first time we physically met, which was a weird coincidence because I bought Albert before the accident happened. But I can say, Seanie loves Albert so much. He told me he woke up Christmas morning cuddling him. It melted my heart. The other pressie he opening Christmas Eve was some art work I made and I'm really proud of.

And that was it really! 1st Christmas day (which is just Christmas days for those who celebrate the 25th) we just slept, ate more food, watched more TV and played with Buller and his new favourite ball.

How was your Christmas? Did you eat twice your weight in delicious food? Did you spend time with people you have dear? Did you get some nice presents? And most important.. Did the people you got presents for love them? That's my favourite things. Spending time with family, eating and seeing how people like the things I got them!

(I will make a what I got for Christmas at some point before the new year I hope)

Happy holidays, lovelies xx

Christmas outfit ideas

I like to pretend I have a sense of fashion that I can't really live out because clothes is expensive and all the nice things don't come in my size! But here's some suggestions I wanted to share. (Everything is made on Polyvore, my name is "moonmalle" on there if you want to check me out)

Casual Burgundy

This is kinda what I'll be wearing. Just with gold jewellery and a bow in my hair. I'm all for comfort, I mean I'll be eating my grandma's delicious food, don't want to have to deal with tight things.

Red Velvet

Velvet has been a huge trend this winter. I love the look but cannot stand the feel. Again a bit of layers, never know how the weather will be! And a bit of sparkles never hurt any one.

Holiday Glam

Little black dress. No jewellery needed, very simple, very classic and very holiday appropriate.

"Ugly" Christmas Jumper

If I owned an "ugly" Christmas jumper, I would live in it from 1st December. I mean it screams Christmas and it's adorable. Again, super comfortable and come on, it's bloody cute. You can match the socks with whatever colour the jumper is! But I love red, so I found this appealing.

I hoped this could help a bit. As you can tell, simple dresses with leggings is my kind of thing. And very food-baby-appropriate! I'm no fashion expert (who is really these days, just fecking wear whatever ya fancy) but I love to play around with putting outfits together. It's my crack.

I bet you'll look cute this Christmas though! Or if you don't celebrate Christmas, you'll look cute too! You're all so cute! *squeeze your cheeks*

Cat hat, Christmas trees, porn dog and RIP Canon.

What can I say? Other than crazy cat lady in progress.

Yesterday (Saturday) my mum, grandma and I went tree hunting. My brother unfortunately couldn't be there, but bonus for me because I picked out the trees! We needed one for my house and my grandma's house where we celebrate Christmas eve at. The one we got for my grandma's house is beautiful. I couldn't take a picture, it was raining so badly and we just wanted to get it in the trunk and leave. But this is the one for my house! Not the best, we got it for 50 kr tho.

Ever since I got my Christmas sheets, Buster has preferred laying on my duvets. And he always go into a "Draw me like on of your French Bulldogs" pose. My mum has started calling him Porn Puppy, because to be honest, my sheets does kinda look like something from a bad porn.

Thursday night baby didn't want to take in the memory card and I have no idea how to fix it myself. So I'm now using my brother's Nikon Coolpix S3100 which he never used any way. And I can say, so far we're not getting along. And it's a bit annoying, but I can't afford a new little shit camera (my mum always mocks me with baby, he may look like a fancy one-use camera but we got along!) so I'll try and figure out how we can work together.

Christmas films, gifts, grey hairs and parcels.

This is going to be a random post seeing as I've been feeling like poop since Sunday. I think the sniffles has reached their way to my system unfortunately. And I was feeling rather sad and just done with life because headaches are like the enemy of people with sleep troubles, but yesterday I received a little parcel from England!

The Wishes may or may not already be gone. But I haven't touched the presents! I didn't even look at the labels, just shoved them on my gift shelves in my wardrobe and haven't really thought more about it. My gift shelves are growing though. I had a system before. Gifts for the Christmas Eve I am going to, and gifts that needs to get out to people before Christmas because they won't be with us. But then I bought some more presents and yeah. But it all looks pretty!

The other day I discovered yet another grey hair. And it makes me feel very old. I'm turning 20 in a few months and now grey hairs?! (this stinks of 1st world problems) Sean keeps reassuring me it's the stress I've been under for weeks. I desperately hope that's it, I JUST quit dyeing my hair. Sigh, life is hard isn't it? (note the heavy sarcasm)

I watched Elf for the first time in my life a few weeks ago, and I cannot believe I've never watched it, it's flipping brilliant! He's so adorable and happy and quirky and it just makes me that much more happy. Sean couldn't believe I've never seen it, it's a film he actually likes - that boy is picky. And another classic is How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It's just a lovely film.
I also love to watch my Danish advent calenders. Apparently it's not a thing in England, I had to explain Sean what it was. It's basically like an advent calender, but with a tv series and they send an episode every day. There's some for children, some for a bit older kids and some for adults sometimes. My favourite is Pyrus, he's a little elf and a naughty one! But he's lovely. Pyrus is aimed for children really. Two adult ones I love is "Jul på Vesterbro" (Christmas on Vesterbro, which is an area in Copenhangen) and "The Julekalender" (The Advent Calender) both are very funny and very Danish humour like.

This is Pyrus. There's made 4 advent calenders with him and 3 films!

What's your favourite Christmas films to watch during December? Let me know, I wanna find some more!

Sunday treat: Peppermint hot chocolate and chocolate cornflake bites

 Peppermint hot chocolate

- Milk enough to fill your favourite mug
- Peppermint extract
- Candy canes
- Unsweetened cocoa powder
- Sugar
- A little pot
- A whisk

Optional: Marshmallows, whipped cream, chocolate shavings, a candy cane for decoration.

Everything is to taste. I use a bit over 1 table spoon unsweetened cocoa powder and 1½ table spoons sugar, 1 crushed candy cane, one lid scoop of the peppermint extract and however much milk fits in my mug. If you like the peppermint stronger, add more, if you want a faint taste, use less. It's basically just experimenting with the ingredients!

So this is as simple as can be, put everything in the pot, put it on medium heat and stir around until the drink starts steaming and everything is nicely combined!

 Chocolate cornflake bites

- ROUGHLY (!!!!) crushed cornflakes
- Chocolate (we used 200g dark chocolate. White, milk, any plain chocolate will do)
- A pot
- Water
- A bowl
- Baking trays
- 2 spoons
- Baking paper

Optional: Chopped nuts of your choice

The exact measurements are hard to tell, because it depends on how much chocolate you use, how finely or rough you crushed your cornflakes.

We used the water bath thing to melt our chocolate. You can microwave it if that's what you fancy.

Firstly, put some baking paper on some baking trays. You'll need this later.

Crush a good amount of cornflakes. It shouldn't be whole pieces of cornflakes, but it shouldn't be fine dust either. Melt the chocolate till it's completely smooth. If you don't use a water bath to melt it, transfer it to a big bowl. Slowly add the crushed cornflakes to the chocolate. The mixture shouldn't be completely wet, but all the cornflakes should be somewhat covered and be able to stick to each other.

When it's all mixed to what you think looks right, take two spoons and scoop out small portions and put them on the baking trays. These shouldn't be big, because they can be hard to bite over if you don't crush the cornflakes enough. And once you've used all the mixture, leave them to harden for a few hours.

I hope you enjoyed this little post. I'm all about simple and easy treats.

Merry Christmas out there and have nice second Advent Sunday!

Christmas nail art

The cute:

The classic:

The simple:

On my nails:

Used OPI - Designer...de better! as a base colour.

I love Christmas. And I especially love Christmas nail art. Last year I wore the second of the reindeer designs constantly, and I got complimented in shops and generally by people who spotted my fabulous manicure (ego moment) and it generally makes people in a better mood seeing small things like this. So I put together some old and new designs I've seen a bit all over the internet.

And of course you can customise background colours and such. But these are just some examples. I used dotting tools to all of them and they are very easy to do. I'm not the best at nail art so if I can do it, I'm sure some of you can to! Oh and the pug is a nail sticker I got off eBay.

I also had a post about Christmas nail art last year. You can check it out here
