A bookworm's diary: May wrap up
A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin
The second book in "A Song of Ice and Fire" series.
THIS CANNOT BE SPOILER FREE BECAUSE SO MUCH SHIT IS GOING ON SO dON'T LOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T REAd IT YET, IT'S GOOd THO, REAd IT, BUT SKIP TO NEXT BOOK REVIEW NOW!!!
A Living Soul by P.C Jersild
This book is not very "me". But I absolutely love it. I've read it before and finally got my own copy. The plot is very interesting, as you follow from a brain's perspective who goes by the name Ypsilon. That's what the main character is, a brain, a detached and and an eye. He lives in an aquarium and is being taken care of by a beautiful lab assistant. Through the entire book you follow him plotting how to escape his fish like situation, how he can win the beautiful assistant's heart and try and remember who he was when he had a body. It's hilarious and a different kind of read.
What I'm currently reading:
In The Woods by Tana French
A Storm of Swords by George R.R Martin
The Scorch Trials by James Dashner
To be completely honest, I haven't been reading much since I finished A Clash of Kings. My head has been a mess and I've been sick so books haven't been my favourite thing to do (Netflix has been my lover) but I hope to get back into reading asap!

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green
I was honestly a bit meh about reading this. I somehow thought I was buying "Looking for Alaska" but saw I had bought this. I finally got myself together and read it. And I enjoyed it. Was it amazing? No. Was it disappointing? A little. Was it good? Yes.
It's about a girl named Hazel who goes to this support group for children with cancer. She's not very keen on going but to kill her mother's pestering, she ends up going. Here she makes friends with Isaac and the oh so beautiful Augustus. Eyes get taken out, hearts get broken, dreams shattered, people die, just life stuff.

Sunday museum trip
My grandmother called me at noon today and asked if I wanted to go on a little adventure with her, and of course, how could I say no?! We went to a place called Hjortsvang Museum which is basically full of old stuff. My grandmother got very nostalgic, seeing things they used to have on the farm she grew up in and such. So this Sunday was full of tales from the old days!
After we went to a marked with everything under the sun. So much junk and amazing old nick-nacks. I'm going to convince my mum to go back there next month. I mean, I definitely need a few more things for my room, right ;-)
How was your Sunday?

A bookworm's diary: March - April wrap up
A bookworm's diary is a new little series I plan to start - AND KEEP - where I talk about books I've been reading. I'll try and keep things spoiler free, as much as possible! Since I've gotten my kindle (thank you bae ♡), I've been reading so much more. So let's get this shiz started!
This is right up my alley. I'm a sucker for YA books. In many ways I can relate to Mia, and in many ways I'm frustrated with how stupid, insecure and blind she can be. But that's the beauty of it, she's a 16 year old girl for fuck's sake! Teenage hormones and all that jazz. It's a MUST READ if you're into YA books.
I will admit, I wasn't actually expecting to love this as much as I did. I bought "The Fault in Our Stars" on my kindle and I'm just not into it, and based on that, I thought I would hate this one. But obviously, a writer isn't only one of their books. I absolutely fucking loved this from start to finish. Pudge is really fun to follow, and all the characters in this book are likeable in their own ways. So don't be scared to dive into this one, I loved it!
What I'm currently reading:
My goal for the rest of May is to finish A Clash of Kings by George R. R. Martin (second book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series) and get The Fault in Our Stars over with because I'll allow myself to start another book. But of course I'll let you all know in May's wrap up!
If I Stay by Gayle Forman
Mia Hall has fallen deeply in love with the cello and classical music, despite having parents who are sworn rock and rollers. But it's not only music that has gotten a chunk of Mia's heart. The rising rock star from the band Shooting Star, Alex, cannot help but fall for the aspiring cellist. She has her music, her loving family, the best friend a girl could wish for, a promising application to her dream music college and the gorgeous boy, isn't life just amazing? But as always, there's a but. It's a snow day and the family goes for a ride, within seconds Mia's life is flipped upside down. Now the only question that's left is, will she stay, or will she go?

Where She Went by Gayle Forman
The second book to If I Stay. In this book we follow Alex and his life after Mia's accident. His band, Shooting Star, has become an international sensation, he's dating a beautiful actress, fans adore him and he gets to see the world. But something is bothering him. He can't enjoy any of this, the accident has left too many invisible scars and not enough time in the world seems to heal anything.
If you loved If I Stay, you'll have to read this. The major thing that bothered me was that now we see things from Alex' point of view. I mean, I love Alex' character, but I would have loved to hear more about Kim, about so many others. It did answer some questions but not enough. I did enjoy it tho, it's not a bad book. I swallowed it in like 2 days! It's really hard not to spoil anything but there you go ;-)

Looking For Alaska by John Green
Miles never really had any friends, but to be honest, it didn't bother him too much. I mean what's friends when you have biographies of famous people and video games, right? But sometimes it can get too lonely, so Miles is off to his dad's old boarding school in Alabama, hoping he'll meet people and make actual friends. His roommate is a short guy who goes by the name The Colonel and a weird obsession with nicknames, but oh well, your friends gotta have some weird traits don't they. The Colonel decides to name Miles, Pudge, because of his slender appearance. Through The Colonel, Pudge gets to meet the beautiful and insane Alaska and the hip hop genius Takumi, and together they're a strange combination of friends, but it all works out, somewhat at least.

Room update #1
Soooo... My mum is the best mum in the world and decided to get me an early birthday present! I've been wanting a new bookcase for ages, and we went to a charity shop last week and I fell in love. My books fit in perfectly! I keep changing around the nick nacks on it tho, but that's not uncommon of me ;-) Small steps towards my perfect room!

DOs and DON'Ts with a book worm
Do:
- Take an interest in what they are reading. Ask about the plot, let them vent. Even if you're not that interested, it'll make their eyes glisten because FINALLY someone is asking about it!
- When you go shopping together, just let them roam the bookshops. Go buy a snack in the meantime!
- Compliment their book collection. A book worm's pride and joy is their bookshelves, so please remind us how awesome it looks.
- Say how amazing our dedication to finish books are. We live to finish adventures and can sometimes need a pick-me-up if we're stuck with a book we're not really into.

- Offer to hold our bag if we're out for a long period of time. Dragging around a miniature library is hard....
- Bear with us when it's midnight and we still haven't been able to put down the book. It happens even when we have to be up at dawn.

Don't:
- Make fun of how much we get into our books. Books can be heavy and can smash your nose back into your skull.
- Complain about how long we spend in a book shop. We're not forcing you to look at books with us, go get us a snack, geez!
- Say we have too many books. There's no such thing as too many books. How dare you, it's like saying you have too many children!
- Tell us we're insane for reading so much. Well excuse us for expanding our vocabularies and feeding our brains with information and imagination!
- Mess with our bookshelves for fun. Most of us have very specific systems, and you're just waking up the dragon and asking to get your head bitten off because of a "joke".
- Turn the light off before we finish a chapter. We get you want to sleep but you know what you got yourself into!
So, this is a pre warning before getting into any kind of relation with a book worm ;-)
